Doing - reading 03

This weeks reading talked about annotated bibliographies and how to apply them. There are three parts to it: 1. Citation 2. Summary and 3. Annotation. Citation is referencing the sources found by authors, Summary is summarizing the source you find relating to your topic and Annotation is stating the source and typing it to your project while also backing up your findings. It also talked about Active and Passive reading as well as how to take in different information in 3 readings.

In my last reading blog, i said i would do the roles in a video game design team but i have since changed it to Gender identity diversity in video games.

Here I 3 articles I found and read related to my topic that i think would suit:

1. https://eds.p.ebscohost.com/eds/detail/detail?vid=0&sid=1470257c-8284-40a5-80a4-c6d51b6f098e%40redis&bdata=JkF1dGhUeXBlPWlwLHNzbyZzaXRlPWVkcy1saXZl#AN=33233536&db=cmedm

2.https://eds.p.ebscohost.com/eds/detail/detail?vid=0&sid=365da558-3dae-454c-b6c8-4841635fafb3%40redis&bdata=JkF1dGhUeXBlPWlwLHNzbyZzaXRlPWVkcy1saXZl#AN=edshol.hein.journals.jbem65.33&db=edshol

3. https://eds.p.ebscohost.com/eds/detail/detail?vid=7&sid=7b939828-5851-42ad-9521-5fd922f32926%40redis&bdata=JkF1dGhUeXBlPWlwLHNzbyZzaXRlPWVkcy1saXZl#AN=139171777&db=ofm

The first article talks about what type of role the character customization plays on for trans and gender diverse people in the gaming community. A lot of the times, games have 2 options available: male and female, however in the last few years they have added a neither/non-binary/other option and/or if the game uses pronouns to identify - then they added they/them pronouns next to she/her and he/him. It talked about how people in this community felt about this topic and the positive impacts it had, as well  as what they lacked or what could be improved.

the third article talks about the growth of lgbt representation in video games has grown between 1985 and 2005. Back then, you wouldn't see as much representation as you would now, but if there was any - most of it would be negatively expressed, mostly in homophobia and transphobia and where it didnt - it was explicit or one line of conversation about it.
